Lecture 9: Frames
Papers by:
Minsky, M.
Pauker, S.G, et. al
Miller, R.A., et. al.
- A knowledge representation should
tell you what to attend to and what inferences are recommended. In Minsky’s original view:
(a) What do frames represent?
(b) How are frames used, i.e., what kind of
inference do they support?
- Why did Minsky think the logicist
approach “will not work”?
- Give several examples illustrating
that Present Illness Program (PIP) and Internist-1 were
both built in the spirit of Minsky’s original notion of frames.
